A new way to see the 5 Dysfunctions of a Team, Team Building

Kimberly Clark’s executive and capabilities teams got an engaging way to introduce, highlight and reinforce high functioning teams and to demonstrate leadership in their commitment to applying the learning. !mprov at work wrote, directed and then coached their teams through four sketches based on the 5 Dysfunctions of a Team model by Patrick Lencioni.

In an interactive and engaging session, participants were coached to identify what they were already doing that was working and what they could do differently using data from a team assessment. Through interactive exercises and discussion, participants found small actions to take them to higher levels of team performance.

Change management, stress reduction training with team development

Legal support staff doing more with less and lawyers wanting to cool their jets and manage stress better have been benefiting from recurring short and impactful Mindfulness at work sessions. Participants are learning how to become more responsive and less reactive by processing what is happening differently and not unwittingly turning situations, change or people into "a problem". Working life is challenging enough without us adding to it. A similar workshop was recently delivered to the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Change management, stress reduction and complex problem solving for Sr.Team

This group of 14 learned how not to create an internal problem from internal change and how to quickly develop small action steps in the face of their new challenges in their roles and in their job process. This team of senior managers and consultants learned how to manage change from the inside, solve complex problems and reduce the stress that comes from change. This team is responsible for crafting and implementing standards for fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

Executive Team Building, Production of Sales Training Video

Global Payments executives got a simple, cost effective way to deliver a sales educational message, do executive team building, and knock the socks off their sales staff at their recent off site meeting. Using the entire executive team as actors our second video production for Global Payments was creatively developed using the popular TV show Deal or No Deal. !mprov at work’s first video for Global Payments was based on the TV show The Apprentice.



North American Health and Safety Week, 2007

Professional Development: Talk on Working Mindfulness (being in the moment)

Participants learned how to develop their awareness, direct their attention and apply Mind Tools for Self Management to the reduction of stress. They learned that stress can be controlled by making small changes to how they process people and events and how accidents can be prevented through awareness. Health and safety professionals and consultants learned how wellness is linked to mindfulness and being in the moment.

All Staff Day: Team Engagement, Team Development, Action on Survey

Three hundred people started to talk, share information and think differently about team work, trust and stress. Using information from an employee engagement survey, we designed interactive sessions and facilitated engaging discussions for participants from the working groups and units across this Ministry. This Ministry is responsible for helping new residents of Ontario, seniors and women find, and access help and resources.

Training in Creative Collaboration, Facilitation from Strategic Priorities

Training in Improvisational thinking gave reticent but highly intelligent people from all areas of the corporation the tools they needed to think creatively, collaborate and provided them with an opportunity to develop action steps for particular problems they faced.

Participants also received special instruction on how to create working groups where ideas are acknowledged and moved forward to potential innovations. These workshops blended improvisational exercises with solutions focused facilitation. Many of the participants also chose our stress management workshop.
